Blue Knits

This lovely was a final progect for Knitwear design. It's blue 100% cotton interlock. I used a green thread to finish the edges and add a little more interest and color. And used adorable pearly flower buttons.

I made this dress after seeing one of similar styles popping up all over the place. The t-shirt top and woven cotton bottom. I altered the neckline of a t-shirt I made for class (hooray for recycling homework) and added a skirt I made out of a sheet I got at DI. I guess this is a great example of saving while sewing.

All those hours of interlining, french seams and hand hemming paid off!

The Show

Finally the day of the show! This is back stage with the lovely and much taller than me models. In the bottom picture you can see two of the three matching aprons I designed.

Illustrations Raw Couture 2009

These are the illustrations that I eventually turned into real life clothes for the show. I tried to emphasize the feminine with bows and pin tucks and flowing skirts.
